Myth and history have left indelibly their marks on Psiloritis, a mountain that has been a sacred place since ancient times. The famous Idaion Andron, the birthplace of Zeus, gave to the mountain its glory and sanctity. From Anogeia to the cave, you will find the archaeological site of Zominthos, where a Minoan palace has been excavated. On the plateau of Nidas there are the famous “mitata”, the stone structures that are used by shepherds as an accommodation during winter months and impress everyone with their unique architecture.

On the top of Psiloritis, you will visit the chapel of Holly Cross and the Observatory of Skinakas. A very interesting proposal for the visitor is Psiloritis Race, a race which follows the footsteps of Zeus and takes place during the summer months. In Psiloritis the visitor has numerous options: hiking, caving, canyoning, mountain – bike, climbing and so many others.
