Chapels – Nida
The Anogeians created temples and churches that seemed to accompany them in their everyday life activities. The survival of religious and folk characteristics is reflected in the values and attitude of the Anogeians’ daily life. It is worth noting that there are family saints along with their chapels dedicated to whole families.
For instance, Saint Mammas to Skoulas’ family, the Christ of Nida to Stavrakakis’ family, Agios Fanourios to Ksilouris’ family, the list is endless. This unique relationship with the divine is considered to be a token of familiarity with the metaphysical element. The chapel of Agia Marina of Fasoulades’ family is next to the archaeological site of Zominthos, while Saint Hyacinth is an exceptional church, where the cultural festival of Iakintheia takes place every summer.
